WiFi installed at home is dangerous, will spy on you all the time, big warning from researchers
Do you know that the WiFi router installed in your home can also spy on you all the time? Whether you connect any device to this router or not, it keeps monitoring you 24 hours. This is also more dangerous than CCTV cameras installed in the house, which can be used to keep an eye on you. A recent research has claimed that how people can be spied on using WiFi routers. Researchers have also issued a warning regarding this.
Researchers warned
Researchers from Germany’s Kalsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) have issued a warning regarding the surveillance technology of routers. This technology turns WiFi routers into tracking tools that can identify people. Whether they have a device connected to the router or not. Researchers have issued a warning regarding the misuse of this technology named BFId.
Imagine, this electronic device that provides high speed internet facility can spy on you, which can prove to be a big danger for you. If hackers get access to it, they can arrest you digitally and keep an eye on you 24 hours.
Is the Wi-Fi router installed at home dangerous?
How does technology work?
According to researchers, whenever a person comes within the range of WiFi, his body shape and walking style can capture the radio frequencies emitted from Wi-Fi. Machine learning models can use these waves to find out who is at home and who is not. It can keep your information based on the radio frequency of the body. Researchers claim that its accuracy is up to 99.5%.
When the waves emanating from WiFi routers hit the human body, a pattern is formed. When waves similar to this pattern remain in range, it can be detected whether a human being is present in the house or not. Scientists discovered that machine learning models could identify these signals. The waves emanating from WiFi routers can accurately identify humans through BFId i.e. Beamforming Feedback Information Technology.
More dangerous than CCTV
Generally, people use CCTV i.e. closed circuit camera television for surveillance. Surveillance can be done more accurately through WiFi router than CCTV. CCTV can only monitor those areas up to which its cameras are in range. At the same time, through BFId, every person coming within the range of the Wi-Fi router can be identified.
