WhatsApp Username Feature: A new feature has arrived on WhatsApp with which you can chat without sharing your phone number. Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has started rolling out username names, which means you will soon be able to chat with anyone without sharing your number. It seems like a small change, but in realtime use it changes the way people connect on the app. Here’s how it will work-
This feature will be a gift for WhatsApp users
The username feature of WhatsApp, which customers were waiting for for a long time, has finally been rolled out. The biggest goal of this feature is that users can chat only through the username that WhatsApp would have provided to them, without sharing their number. It is expected that WhatsApp will soon make this feature available to everyone and it can come as a gift for all WhatsApp users.
How does the username feature work?
According to a report by WabetaInfo, if this feature is available on your account, then you will see a new username option in the profile settings. Once you choose one, it can become your identity on WhatsApp. Through this you can share it instead of your phone number. It can be considered like the username of Instagram. This means that anyone can find your username and send you direct messages. The most important thing is that unless you choose to share your number, your number remains hidden. According to the report of WABeatinfo, WhatsApp Username feature is currently available only for a very few people i.e. selected users, which can soon be rolled out for everyone.
You will get the option to choose a unique username.
After this feature comes to your account, you will be able to search any contact through username and other users will be able to use your username to find your contact. For this it is not necessary that you have shared your number. You will get the option to choose a unique username.
What types of usernames can users choose?
- Username must contain 3 to 35 characters
- It must contain at least one letter i.e. English small letter
- In this you will be able to use only small letters like (a-z) numbers like (0-9) points like (.) and underscore (_)
- Usernames cannot use www or domain-style names, i.e. a username that resembles a website.
- You cannot use .com or .net at the end of your username so that it appears as if it is the ID of a website.
