Gautam Adani spoke on AI, said- 'AI should be used not only in the boardroom, but also in empowering India'

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has said a big thing about AI. The impact of AI has been increasing in the world including India. He has emphasized on widespread use of AI. Speaking at the CII Annual Business Summit, Adani Group Chairman said that Artificial Intelligence should not only empower the boardroom. It should also be used to empower India.

AI useful for common people

During his address, Gautam Adani said that India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution should be measured on the scale of how much benefit it is providing to the common people, workers and small businesses of the country. Chairman of Adani Group has presented his views on AI at the annual business summit of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held in New Delhi.

In his address, he said that India should immediately cancel all those ideas in which jobs are cut and people’s livelihood is affected due to AI. In India, AI should be seen as a force that can increase productivity, create employment and empower small businesses. Every Indian should use this tool for global competition.

Example given of UPI

Referring to the transformation of the UPI system, the Adani Group Chairman said that the country’s most transformative technology revolutions succeed when they reach people and create opportunities on a large scale. UPI has not only made money transactions easier but it has also made small businesses visible, due to which people’s trust in this new economic ecosystem has increased.

Self-dependence on AI infrastructure

Gautam Adani said this opportunity can be realized only if India builds the full AI stack including reliable energy, data centres, compute infrastructure, networks, applications and an AI-integrated skills ecosystem. He also said that the era of intelligence cannot be built only on chips, servers and algorithms. This can also be done through technicians, electricians, operators, cooling engineers and the millions of skilled workers who support the physical infrastructure behind the digital economy.

The Chairman of Adani Group warned about dependence on foreign digital ecosystems, saying that semiconductors have become instruments of statecraft. Data is being treated as a national resource. Clouds are being weaponized. Artificial intelligence is being built behind the protective walls of data centers.

Big investment in data center

He further said that Adani Group has invested $100 billion in clean energy, digital infrastructure and data centres. Apart from this, it has partnered with companies like Google and Microsoft to increase the compute capacity in India.

He said in his address that for too long, digital worlds have been considered as places without maps, but in this fragmented era, we must understand that data has a home and intelligence has a geography. India should not rent infrastructure for its intelligence future. India should prepare it on its own soil.

The next battle will be fought in the minds

The Adani Group Chairman said the next battle for freedom will be fought in our grids, data centres, factories, classrooms, labs and in our minds and freedom in the Intelligence Age will mean empowering ourselves, the ability to compute for ourselves and dream for ourselves.
